Desert Reflections is Geoscience's debut album of expansive soundscapes drawn from the timeless landscapes that have always inspired him.
Since moving to Southern California in July 2014, these desert wonderlands were now close at hand. The musical direction and intent that Geoscience (Matthew Thomas) had been searching for since his sonic journey began several years earlier was now coming into a sharper focus.

The quiet inner calmness that is alive in these environments – from the searing heat of the day to the star filled cool nights is deftly expressed in Desert Reflections.
The creation of the pieces on this release were Inspired from many journeys to Joshua Tree California, the Sonoran Desert regions of Arizona, and high desert regions of Utah.

During a visit to the Tucson Arizona in early 2015, Matthew had a fortuitous meeting with renown ambient pioneer Steve Roach. Matthew expressed a sincere desire in to take his music and recordings to the next level. Several months later a visit to Steve's Sonoran desert Timeroom studio would occur for his sonic enhancements and final assembly skills. Desert Reflections as a complete statement was made a reality.
